Yes, it’s that time of year again – to get your colonies ready for the long hard winter ahead. Our North East Chapter’s John Gaut will speak about Winterizing your Hives at the Essex County Bee Association’s meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. in Garibaldi Hall at the Essex County Environmental Center at 621B Eagle Rock Ave. in Roseland. He will talk about insulating hives for the winter. John has done some very interesting and well-conducted experiments and has had very positive results. It’s a timely topic, as all beekeepers should be doing their final winter prep this month. We hope to see lots of beekeepers there to enjoy John’s Powerpoint. All are welcome to attend the meeting. This will be the only opportunity to hear this lecture.
